LAPEL PINS - CLOISONNE / SYNTHETIC ENAMEL

Cloisonne is the best quality lapel pin. Basically, we start out with a diestruck lapel pin, and the 'recessed' areas are hand filled with cloisonne or synthetic enamel. If full printing is required, we can overprint on the cloisonne lapel pin.

All special processes that we have available for lapel pins can be applied in junction with cloisonne. These includes glow in the dark pins, flashing lights, glittering, pin-on-pin, pvc inserts, lenticular inserts, etching and lasering on lapel pins, and over printing.

Our special in cloisonne lapel pin is 5,000 copper stamped 3/4" cloisonne lapel pins at $0.60/each.

Multiple Dimension Cloisonne Pins Chart

cloisonne lapel pin chart   What does this chart means?
Cloisonne are not the cheapest kind. The quality is excellent, production time is our normal 10 working days. The perceived value is the best, and versatility is very high, meaning that we can use additional processes such as printing, flashing lights, pin on pin, glittering, glow in the dark, and synthetic stones. We can even combine it with PVC inserts to create a one of a kind emblem.

Highlights
Custom cloisonne

The highest quality finish. Your artwork is stamped into copper or brass, with the depressed areas being filled with ground glass. The pins are fired at 1600F degrees and polished to a fine luster.

For Best Results:
- Bold designs are recommended to avoid coloring caused by lines and figures that are too thin or too small. If your design have small detailed portions that need to be colored it will require and additional silk-screen printing process.

- Enamel coloring requires a surrounding metal space to ensure good quality painting. Therefore, it is necessary to allow for a blank metal rim (0.3mm minimum). If your design requires bleeding or full-piece coloring, a special process is necessary.

- The standard colors are based on the AOKI Cloisonne color chart for cloisonne pins, no PMS matches are possible. If you prefer or require PMS color match, synthetic cloisonne enamel can be used instead, it is not as hard as real cloisonne but it is more shiny and clear in color.

Cloisonne Production Process

Molding
The Cloisonne Process today has been develped by molding the copper surface to form the "cloisons"
Outline Cutting
Cutting molds are made separately, then cut to the eact outline of the desing
Outline cutting molds may be required depending on the complexity of the desing
If a center hole or cu-out is required, an additional cut-through mold must be used
Coloring
Enamel is compoed of glass-like material combined with metal oxides and clay into fine powder. Cloisonne powder cannot be mixed like paints or soft enamel, as each color returns to its own shade after heating
Firing
Colors are fired one at a time at 1,600F for two to four minutes to stabilize the enamel and prevent color bleeding
Stoning & Polishing
Each piece is fully cooled
Finishing is by rubbing the surface with a carborundum stone until all excess color has been worn away
The surface is then polished until it is smooth and shinning
Attachment
Attachment is soldered onto the back of each piece
Plating
Plating now can be processed. The quality of plating varies with the lenght of time the metal is soaked in the plating liquid.
Inspection & Packing
All items are strictly inspected before delivery. Your satisfaction is guaranteed.
