Custom soft enamel lapel pins

A very high quality lapel pin. Most often the metal used is copper. For budget considerations, iron material can be used instead of copper, but without polishing.

For Best Results:
- Bold designs are recommended to avoid coloring caused by lines and figures that are too thin or too small.
- Enamel coloring requires a surrounding metal space to ensure good quality painting. Therefore, it is necessary to allow for a blank metal rim (0.3mm minimum).
- The standard colors are based on the Pantone chart

Available plating: Gold / Antique gold / Silver / Antique Silver / Nickel / Black Nickel / Antique Nickel / Copper / Antique Copper / Brass / Antique Brass/Dye Black

How is this pin made
Stamping Molding
Molds the metal surface to form the design.
Outline Cutting
Cutting molds are made separately, then cut to the eact outline of the desing
Outline cutting molds may be required depending on the complexity of the desing
If a center hole or cu-out is required, an additional cut-through mold must be used
Attachment is soldered onto the back of each piece

Plating now can be processed. The quality of plating varies with the lenght of time the metal is soaked in the plating liquid.
The metal surface is then polished until it is smooth and shiny. This applies to copper metal only, Iton can be polished if required for it is not a standard procedure and you will incurr in an extra charge.
The pin is colored by hand with soft enamel, one color at a time, using different sized syringes.
To precent defects, a high degree of skill is reuiqred in order to keep each color and the correct amount of enamel in the porper area.

Excess color and impurities are then wiped off the metal surfaces.
The metal piece is baked at approx. 450 F for 12 to 15 minutes.
Epoxy Coating (if required)
Clear epoxy is then applied to the surface to protect the enamel from color fading and cracking. Epoxy coating is optional and provided according to customer's requirements.
